It was an evening of celebration for The Ripon City Swimming Club, as they held their annual awards evening last week.
The awards recognised the young swimmers who had taken part in the club’s Mini Gala and Senior Gala. Formed in 1936, the awards night follows a rich tradition for the club, and they have helped youngsters learn to swim in Ripon ever since.
Gongs were handed out for racing, diving and jumping, and also included Endeavour Shields for each class. These were given to the swimmer who had shown the most determination and commitment to their swimming throughout the year.
The Baker family set their stall out for future Olympic success, as they picked up an impressive 12 trophies between them.
The night ended with a disco, which allowed members of the club the chance to let their hair down out of the water.
